Students Arriving to School Late:

Rye Hills School has a Lates System in place for students who do not arrive on time (to be registered at 8:35am)

If a student is late to Registration they need to attend a 10 minutes detention with their form tutor that night. If they fail to attend the 10 minute detention they will have to do a 30 minute detention with their Head of College the next night. If they do not attend the 30 minute detention, they will get a 1 hour Whole School Detention. Failing to attend the Whole School Detention will result in a day in Isolation.  Repeat offenders will have their parent/carers contacted and a meeting set up in school.

Confiscation of mobile phones and other items:

If your child has his/her mobile phone or another item confiscated throughout the school day it will be placed in a clearly labelled envelope, taken to the school reception and securely locked in the safe.

In response to concerns from parents about the safety of children going home without their phones on the first day of confiscation, Governors have decided that, with immediate effect, parents / carers will be contacted by phone as soon as a student's phone has been confiscated.  This is to inform them of the confiscation and to allow them to make arrangements to have their child collected from school if they are concerned.

Confiscated items will be available for collection by parents / carers from the school’s main reception from 08:00am to 08:45pm each day.

As before, students will still be able to collect items at 3:15pm the day following the confiscation if they bring in a note from their parent / carer.

Notice regarding pupils going out of school for lunch
