Y5/6 Open Evening is on Monday 17th September 2018

Dear Parent(s) / Carer(s) and Year 5/6 Students,

It gives us great pleasure to write to you and enclose your “Welcome to Rye Hills Invite” – your personal invitation to our Year 5/6 Open Evening on Monday 17 September 2018, 5.00 – 7.00 pm.

On the evening, you will have the opportunity to wander around our Academy, taking part in or watching different activities; whether that be sampling French and Spanish cuisine, using virtual reality geography goggles or conducting scary science experiments. In addition, each subject area will be show-casing examples of student work from Years 7 to 11. Take part in our Academy treasure hunt to win the prize! Formal talks will take place in the hall at 5.15 or 6.15pm. We aim for excellence in all that we do and this event will show how committed and innovative we are in our pursuit of that aim. Our staff and students are all very excited about meeting you and are busy practising performances and organising events in readiness for your visit. We hope that you are able to attend and look forward to seeing you. If you have any friends who have Year 6 children at other primary schools, please feel free to tell them and let them know they would be very welcome to come along too.

If you cannot make the above evening event, please do not worry. We are opening our doors to parents/carers for our “Welcome to Rye Hills Open Week”, where you are invited to make an appointment with us (via telephone), to come into the academy during the day, and see Rye Hills in action. You will be taken on a tour of the academy by a member of our Senior Leadership Team, going into lessons and seeing how the academy operates during a ‘typical day’. This is available from 18th to 21st September 2018, for parents and carers only.

We look forward to meeting you!

Yours sincerely,

Caroline Waugh
