Local Sculptor, Graham Anderton, Works With Year 9 Students

Year 9 students recently took part in a design project and had the opportunity to work with the local sculptor Graham Anderton, artist Mo Coade and Joanne Hodgson from Redcar and Cleveland council.

The brief was to create a trophy inspired by Redcar and the local area. The final design will be used to create a set metal sculptures, to be given as trophies at the Pride of Redcar awards in September.

Students did a fantastic job, proving how much can be achieved with plain white paper and some great ideas. Graham Anderton was very impressed by the effort and enthusiasm of our students and was thrilled by the variety of ideas and outcomes that students created.

Particular congratulations to Cole Holmes whose elegant bird design will become this years' trophy for the Redcar awards ceremony.
