Remembrance Service

Rye Hills Academy held their annual Remembrance Service on Friday 10th November 2017.

Pupils were silently led outside to the front of the building at 10:45am by their teachers.

In attendance were representatives from Cleveland Fire and Police Departments, Army Cadets, Sea Cadets, Police Cadets and Scouts.

Head of School Mrs Waugh and Director of Operations Mr Waugh led the service and the 'Last Post' was played as we observed the 2 minute silence remembering all those who lost their lives or were affected by war and conflict.

Head Boy Ryan Wold and Head Girl Queenie Griffiths read the poem 'Flander's Fields' and laid the wreath. This was followed by Year 10 vocalist Leah Rutherford and acoustic guitarist Madeline Robinson performing 'Fields of Gold'.

Finally the Cadets marched and led the way back in to the building for the rest of the academy.
