The library is open before school for homework: 8:20am - 8:35am, at registration for Accelerated Reading and quizzing only; 8:35am - 9:00am.  It is also open for all pupils at break times: 11:00am - 11:20am, lunch times: 12:20pm - 1:10pm and after school: 3:15pm - 4:15pm with the exception of Fridays when it closes at 4:00pm.

Access to the library is through a signing up system, places are limited and it is strictly first come first served. Pupils must collect a lunch pass to allow them access into the building.

The library offers many resources. There is a wide range of fiction and non- fiction books, revision guides, text books and magazines. We run the Accelerated Reader Programme for years 7, 8 and 9 and have a large variety of fiction and non-fiction suitable for all reading levels. Pupils have access to computers in the library and in the adjoining IT Suite which can be used for school work, Accelerated Reader quizzing, research and educational games. There is a variety of  board games such as Scrabble, Monopoly and Chess as well as playing cards available at break and lunch time. Pupils are welcome to use the library to read, work, play games or quietly chat with their friends.

There may be occasions when the library is closed during the school day because of student librarian training. Notification will be given. Pupils should check the library timetable posted on the door.

For after school access students must on arrival sign their name in the folder by the desk and ensure that parents/carers are aware of the additional time being spent in school.

Students are able to loan a maximum of 3 books for up to 2 weeks. They may also renew the book as long as it has not been reserved by another pupil.
