Year 10 Work Experience 2020

Block Week: Monday 30th Mrch - Friday 3rd April 2020

Information from Work Experience Week 2019:

Year 10 Work Experience Presentation - Thursday 17th January 2019

Students will be expected to try and find their own placement. However the Careers Officer can offer help and guidance in doing this and has a wide range of contacts that can be used. It is very important that you see the Careers Officer and ask for help in good time. Do not leave it until the weeks before the placement. Many employers require a great deal of notice in order to take on a work experience student and placements are limited.

It is good practice to have a CV prepared which students can then hand to a potential employer. You can find out how to write a CV here. You can also ask your teachers or careers officer for help with this too.

Please be aware that certain placements may not be accessible due to the student's age, health & safety regulations, confidentiality and/or data protection. These usually include but are not limited to medical work: doctors, hospitals, plastic surgery etc..., some IT work, military placements, tattoo/piercing parlours, public houses (barwork) etc...

If parents or students have any queries about work experience they can e-mail:

Students do not have to wait until the assembly to apply for work experience, if an opportunity arises please speak to the careers officer who will give you the relevant paper work (also available at the bottom of this page).
