Safeguarding and Child Protection

At Rye Hills Academy we take the safety, wellbeing and care of our students very seriously. To ensure the best outcomes for our students they need to feel safe and secure in school, at social times and at home.

All staff receive safeguarding training and regular updates. We have a dedicated team for safeguarding within the academy who receive Level 3 safeguarding training. A copy of the NMAT child protection and Safeguarding Policy is available to view in the ‘About Us’ section.

The students are introduced to the safeguarding team and a poster showing the team is posted in various locations around the academy. At school students can see a member of the team, or another trusted adult should they need to report a concern. Students also get regular opportunities to learn about safeguarding issues through the Skills for Life Curriculum, Safety Awareness For Everyone (SAFE) sessions, assemblies and in drop down events.

If you have any concerns about the safety or welfare of a student please contact the academy on 01642 484269, or email safeguarding@ryehills.rac.sch.uk Should you need to contact children’s social services the number for the Redcar & Cleveland Multi Agency Children’s Hub (MACH) is 01642 130700. In the event of an emergency dial 999.
