5 Parental Involvement

5. Parental Involvement:

  • Daily monitoring of progress, rewards and behaviour through Progresso which may lead to early contact with parents from academy staff;
  • Parental access to the academy’s data management system, Progresso, allowing parents to see for their child the following: attendance, timetable, school reports, rewards and behaviour log and any attached documents;
  • Academy reports to all parents through data captures and opportunities to meet with teachers at parents' evenings;
  • The academy monitors progress through a cycle of assessment, reviewing data and interventions. These are used to inform meetings and set new objectives;
  • Students on Student Support will have termly meetings between parents, students and named member of staff;
  • During these meetings progress and evaluation of interventions will take place;
  • The member of staff will be available to explain next steps in your child's plan and discuss with you how you could support this;
  • Students with an EHCP will also have termly progress meetings as well as the fortnightly contact from their named support assistant;
  • Parents training or learning events have been organised to cover different subjects, such as supporting your child with revision; these will be needs led throughout the year.
