Computing

This department is vibrant with a positive learning atmosphere. The staff are always keeping up to date with the latest technological developments, ensuring that the students always have the best learning resources. 

Our units of work are regularly reviewed and updated to ensure students have the opportunity to achieve their full potential in Computing, and a grounding in the local technology industry.

We are well equipped and resourced with Intel i3 computer and 19” widescreen monitors, using Windows 10 and Office 2019.  There are five dedicated Computing suites which are all networked and each room can accommodate a whole class of students to work individually, allowing everyone to have a fair and professional approach to their learning. 

E-safety is reviewed every September and activity in lessons is monitored at all times with teachers able to take control of individual computers using Impero networking software.  The safeguarding of our students is of paramount importance.

At KS4 we teach Computer Science using the OCR specification and Level 2 Creative i-Media using the Cambridge National specification. You can access the specifications using the links below:
